About the role

You'll be a key design voice across Xero's core accounting flows — working on features used by hundreds of thousands of small businesses across NZ and AU. This is a high-ownership role with real scope to shape the product direction alongside engineering leads and product managers.

Xero is a Figma-first organisation with a strong design culture and a component library built and maintained by the design team. You'll contribute to it from day one.

What you'll do
Own end-to-end design for 2–3 product squads, from problem framing to shipped feature
Contribute to and evolve the Xero Design System
Run lightweight research sessions to validate direction early
Mentor a junior designer embedded in your squad
Present design rationale to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
